The Department of Mathematics of the University of Salamanca, in collaboration with the International School for Advanced Studies in Trieste (SISSA), is organizing the 2003 School and Workshop on Algebraic Geometry and Physics, that will take place in Salamanca (Spain) from Thursday 19 to Friday 28, June 2003. This event is part of a series of workshops and schools organized since 1996 by SISSA in collaboration with other institutions, including the University of Salamanca.
Topics covered will include Fourier-Mukai transform in its various personifications, Nahm transform, derived categories and birational geometry, and applications to mirror symmetry and branes. The arrival and departure days will be:
-- June 18 and 24 for the School
-- June 23 and 28 for the Workshop.
FORMAT
Workshop: There will be a small number of invited lectures. Invited speakers who have already accepted to participate include B. Andreas, T. Bridgeland, R. Donagi, A. Caldararu, J. Figueroa-O'Farril, O. García-Prada, R.P. Horja, S. Hosono, B. Lian, J.C. Naranjo, P. Newstead, A. Polishchuk and K. Yoshioka. There will also be space for some participants to present their work; presentation will be subject to approval by the Scientific Committee. We aim at having a relatively small audience of specialists to ensure an informal and cooperative atmosphere.
School: Lectures will be given by C. Bartocci, U. Bruzzo, D. Hernandez Ruiperez and F. Sancho.
EXPENSES AND SUPPORT: Participants will be accommodated at student residences on campus. The estimated cost of bed & breakfast accommodation sharing a twin room is 24 euros per day. Due to requirements by some funding institutions, a registration fee of 115 euros will be levied; junior participants may ask for its waiving.
It will be possible for the organization to support fully or in part the local expenses of some participants. Under very special circumstances, some funding may be available to cover travel expenses.
Intended participants should fill in the registration form, and return it NO LATER THAN MARCH 14th, 2003, possibly by e-mail. An acknowledgement will be sent within a few days.
A second circular with a more detailed scientific programme, and information about travel and accommodation will be sent as soon as possible.

SWAGP2003 is the 7th event of a series of
workshops and schools on algebraic geometry and physics. The previous events
took place in 1996 in Trieste (WAGP96), in 1997 in Medina del Campo, Spain
(WAGP97), in 1999 in Marseille Luminy (SAGP99), in 2000 in Trieste (WAGP2000),
in 2001 in Como (SAGP2001) and in 2002 in Genova (WAGP2002). Information
